Privacy Policy

KNGCuts ("we", "us") is a barbershop at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. This policy explains what information we collect through kngcuts.com when you browse, create an account, book an appointment or leave a review, and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you create an account

• Name, email address and phone number.
• A password, which our sign-in provider (Supabase) stores in scrambled (hashed) form. We can never see it.
• If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with us. We don't get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
• A profile photo, only if you choose to upload one.

When you book

• The service and add-ons you pick, the date and time, the price, and any notes you write (for example a reference photo link).
• Whether the appointment is upcoming, completed or cancelled.

When you leave a review

• Your star rating, your comment, and the name shown with it (your first name and last initial).

Automatically

• Like every website, the companies that host and run our site keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) for security and to keep the service running. We don't use these to profile you.

We don't collect payment card details. You pay at your appointment.

How we use it

• To book, confirm, remind you about, reschedule or cancel your appointments.
• To run the booking rules fairly, such as one cut per client per week and no double-booked times.
• To ask how your cut went after it's done, and to show approved reviews on our homepage.
• To contact you about your booking if something changes.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

We don't use your information for advertising, we don't build marketing profiles, and we don't make automated decisions about you beyond the booking rules above.

Emails we send

We only send emails about your bookings:

• A confirmation when you book.
• A reminder about an hour before your appointment.
• One review request after the barber marks your cut as done.

We don't send newsletters or promotions, and we never give your email address to anyone for marketing.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We use a small number of service providers who handle data only to run the site for us:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our clients or the shop.

What's public

Only reviews that the barber approves are shown publicly on our homepage, with your first name and last initial, your rating, your comment and the month you posted it. Your email, phone number and bookings are never public.

Gallery photos show the barber's work. We only post photos of clients who agree, and we'll take down any photo of you if you ask.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising cookies, analytics or anything that tracks you across other websites. The site saves a few small items in your browser's local storage, only to make the site work:

These are strictly necessary for the features you use, so we don't show a cookie banner. You can clear them any time in your browser settings; doing so signs you out. If you use "Continue with Google", Google's sign-in page sets its own cookies under Google's Privacy Policy.

How long we keep it

• Account and profile: for as long as you have an account.
• Booking records: kept as part of the shop's business records. If you delete your account, we remove your name, email, phone number and notes from them, so only the date, service and price remain.
• Reviews and profile photo: deleted when you delete your account. You can also ask us to remove a review at any time.
• Our providers may keep encrypted backups for a short period before they are overwritten.

Your choices and rights

• See and update your name, phone number and photo on your profile.
• Cancel upcoming appointments from your profile.
• Delete your account yourself: Profile → Delete account. Upcoming bookings are cancelled and your personal details are removed as described above.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing kngcutsbarbershop@gmail.com. We'll respond within 45 days, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

Depending on where you live (including New Jersey and other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising or profiling. We don't sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising or profiling, so there's nothing to opt out of. If we ever decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.

Children

This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you're under 18, please get a parent or guardian's permission before creating an account or booking. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to your bookings is locked so that only you and the barber can see them, and only the barber can manage the shop's settings and gallery. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and fix problems quickly.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we'll let you know by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.
